🌱 WHY IT MATTERS:
This initiative is more than secure document shredding and recycling – it is an opportunity to drive real, lasting environmental change. Every donation supports critical restoration
projects that enhance ecosystems, protect biodiversity and improve water quality throughout Minnesota. Plus, since shredded paper from home can’t be recycled curbside, these events ensure paper waste is responsibly recycled into post-consumer products like cereal boxes, napkins, and toilet paper—giving your clutter a second life and a greater purpose.
“Every bag of shredded paper helps us plant a tree, protect our pollinators, and clean our waters—it’s a small action with a huge impact,” said Kateri Routh, Executive Director at Great River Greening. “We are especially grateful to Kowalski’s Markets and Shred Right for donating their time and resources to help us make a lasting difference.”
For over 30 years, Great River Greening has been restoring landscapes through community engagement and hands-on restoration projects, including planting trees, improving native habitats, and creating healthy ecosystems for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
